Qixi Festival

   Qixi Festival , also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. It is a day when couples express their love for each other and pray for happiness and good fortune.

  Legend has it that the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl are separated by the Milky Way, and they are only allowed to meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. On this day, magpies form a bridge across the sky to reunite the couple. To commemorate this romantic story, people celebrate Qixi by exchanging gifts, making wishes, and telling love stories.

  During the Qixi Festival , young girls prepare offerings of fruits, flowers, and decorations to worship the Weaver Girl, praying for skill in needlework and a good marriage. They also write their wishes on small pieces of paper and hang them on bamboo branches. People believe that if it rains on this day, it represents the tears of the Weaver Girl as she longs for her beloved husband.
